A Walking Field Trip

Thursday's Trip to the Fire Station

Our walking field trip to the Fire Station was full of adventure. While we were in the fire station 'classroom' listening to fireman Tyler and fireman Matt talk about fire safety, the 2 fire fighters were called out on an emergency. They quickly made their way out of the classroom and jumped into their trucks. All 18 kids rushed to the windows to watch 2 fire trucks race out of the station with their sirens and horns blaring. While they were gone we managed to take a tour of the living quarters and by the time we returned to the room our fire fighter friends were back from their call. They finished their talk and led us to the garage where the fire trucks were and the kids had a chance to climb into a real fire truck. Enough excitement for one day!!!
