Special Homemade Books for Writer's Workshop

The kids were so excited to write in some special homemade books during Writer's Workshop today. I used the scraps of our Eric Carle paintings and turned them into some mini books for the kids to write a story in. We started with a mini lesson about how author's will find anything around to write on when they get a good idea for a story, scrap paper, the back of some bills and walls ( just kidding). The kids loved the idea of having special paper and a special cover to write a little story on.
