Four Winds Snowflakes

On Friday, Sandy Connolly came into the classroom to present the Four Winds workshop on snowflakes. We learned that there are four different types of snowflakes; stellar, needle, plate and column. Each snowflake has 6 sides and no 2 snowflake are alike. In order for a snowflake to form, three things are needed. Air(either cold or warm), water and a dust particle or salt particle. After a wonderful play put on by Sandy and Ms. Hooker, the children all made there own 6 sided snowflake out of coffee filters. By far the most delicious part of the whole workshop were the homemade snowflake sugar cookies made by Mrs. Connolly and Quinn the night before. Check out the faces of the children as they hold up there bag with their snowflake cookie. Of course, no two snowflake cookie are the same.
